- Chitosan is a naturally occurring fiber which is derived from the polysaccharide called
chitin, which is found in the exo-skeletons of shrimp, crabs, and other shellfish. The use
of Chitosan has many positive, healthy effects, and is normally used as an aid to
weightloss, being referred to as the "Fiber of the Future", by many analysts.

- Chitosan, with the ability to attach itself to lipids and fats, works by having the
ability to attract fat, much like a magnet, trapping it, and flushing it from the body.
Each gram of Chitosan safely rids the body of up to 12 grams of fat from a meal. A report
from the ARS Medicina in Helsinki, Finland states that test subjects lost 8% of body
weight in 4 weeks of using Chitosan. Among other effects, by reducing absorbed fat in the
body, Chitosan also has been shown to greatly reduce cholesterol levels. Along with these
benefits, Chitosan is a nondigestable fiber, which means that there is no calorie intake
with this product. Other than it's fat-binding action, Chitosan remains virtually inactive
in the human body.
